Mould Testing

What is Mould Testing And What’s Involved?

Mould testing is the process of identifying the presence, type and extent of mould growth within a property.

While mould is sometimes visible, it often grows in hidden areas such as wall cavities, ceiling spaces, under flooring, or behind furniture. Mould testing helps determine whether mould is present even when it cannot be seen, and whether indoor air quality may be affected by airborne spores that can impact health and comfort.

At Mould Doctor SA, mould testing begins with a thorough on-site inspection by trained technicians. We assess visible signs of mould, moisture issues, water damage, ventilation problems, and areas prone to condensation. Using industry-approved methods, we may collect air samples, surface samples, or swab tests depending on the situation. These samples help us understand spore levels, identify problem areas, and assess whether mould is actively spreading within the environment.

Our testing process focuses not only on detection, but also on identifying the underlying cause of mould growth. Moisture is always the key driver, so we look closely at leaks, humidity levels, drainage issues, and building design factors that may be contributing to the problem. This allows us to provide accurate recommendations rather than temporary fixes.

Once testing is complete, Mould Doctor SA provides clear reporting and practical guidance tailored to the property. Our goal is to help homeowners, landlords, businesses, and facility managers make informed decisions about remediation and prevention, ensuring mould issues are addressed properly and do not return.
